August 27 marks the 25th year of Ben & Tim Day, an event that honors Ben Yupcavage and Tim Russell.
Ben and Tim were Hershey High School athletes, tragically killed in an automobile accident. In their memory, the Yupcavage and Russell families established the Tim Russell – Ben Yupcavage Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The event known as “Ben & Tim Day” has maintained this scholarship fund in loving memory of and as a tribute to Ben and Tim. The day features a 5K, a Fun Run, a Soccer Shots clinic for kids 3-5, a chicken BBQ and a pre-race-day spaghetti dinner at the Church of the Nazarene Hershey.
New to Ben & Tim Day this year—The O2 Challenge for special needs individuals. Sponsored by Fitness 4 Focus, the O2 Challenge will feature a mile-long obstacle course with built-in fun! Registration is available for the O2 Challenge at the Fitness 4 Focus website.
