UPDATE: The Reese's Dark Peanut Butter Cup Giveaway is now closed. Watch here for winners, selected randomly (using random.org) from our comments...and watch for more giveaways coming up soon!
Since just before National S'Mores Day, we'd been experimenting with different Hershey products in our S'mores, trying to find just the right ingredient to kick up that campfire favorite a few notches. Honeymaid Grahams were a must—and not the low-fat kind. Homemade vanilla marshmallows would be perfect...but for convenience sake, the traditional Kraft Jet-Puffed Marshmallows were working just fine.
But the chocolate: that's where we focused our energies. The traditional Hershey's Milk Chocolate Bar? We wanted something different this time. A Hershey's Symphony Bar? Pretty good...but very (maybe TOO) sweet. How about Mr. Goodbar? The addition of peanuts was nice, but something about the texture didn't work for us. However, the peanut flavor worked well. And that led us to Reese's.
Because our milk chocolate creations were a little too sweet for our liking, we first tried the new Reese's Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup. And there was no need to try anything else—the dark chocolate gave our S'Mores a richer, less sweet chocolate boost, and the peanut butter flavor and texture was just right. For maximum peanut butter and chocolate flavor, a full-size cup is best, but we tried using Miniatures as well and let's just say they were happily consumed by our "test panel" as well!
Then a miracle occurred. In a strange coincidence (or maybe it was fate), The Hershey Company approached us to see if we'd be interested in sponsoring a giveaway for Reese's Dark Peanut Butter Cups. The Dark Peanut Butter Cups are a new addition to the Reese's line-up; although the company has offered limited edition dark peanut butter confections in the past, the dark chocolate PB cup is apparently ready for prime time and can now be found on the shelves in your local grocery and convenience stores (as well as the bigger box stores, such as Target and Wal-Mart).
If you'd like the chance to win a gift pack of fresh Reese's Dark Peanut Butter Cups, all you need to do is leave a comment here telling us how you eat your Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Do you nibble on the edges? Take off the chocolate top first? Pop the whole thing in your mouth? (don't worry, we won't tell a soul...)
Comment as many times as you wish.* On Wednesday, August 26, we'll close the comments at noon Eastern and pick three winners. Each winner will receive a special package consisting of four 2-packs of the Reese's Dark Cups and two bags of the Reese's Dark Cups Miniatures. That's enough to keep your S'Mores campfire crew content!
*The Hershey Company has asked that we extend this offer only to residents of the United States, and only those U.S. residents over the age of 18.
I eat them one at a time.
I used to nibble off the edges, making it smooth as possible before devouring the center.
Then I move to popping out the center with my tongue, then eating the edges.
Then I nibbled the edges, then ate the top off, then ate the rest.
Now, I just eat them. Nothing special or fancy. The taste is too good to waste time not having it in my mouth.

I eat some of it around the edges first but then I dive in and eat huge bites. Cant wait to try the dark chocolate and the idea of smores? Yum.

I just take small bites to savor the flavor.
I love them when they're cold..right out of the fridge.

Three bites: the first through the middle to make that perfect crescent shape; then, a bite for each slivered point of peanut-butter-chocolatey-goodness.

I nibble the little crinkles off of the edge, then eat the smooth part in about three bites. I have a big glass of cold milk and start on the next one. Mmmmmmm.............

How do I eat Reese's Peanut Butter Cups? Hmmm... With pretzels :D Me and my Mom found a recipe (I guess it's considered a recipe :P) online where you put Hershey Kisses on top of mini pretzels, pop them in a very low set oven for a bit so the chocolate melts over the pretzel... So it's like the easiest way (and least wasteful) to make chocolate covered pretzels :D We do the same thing with the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, only with a slightly bigger pretzel! Peanut butter + Chocolate + Pretzel = Happy Mouth :D!

Oh, I lurrrrve dark chocolate!
I don't do anything fancy. Bite into the side, bite the corners off the crescent of the bite, and then bite what remains in half. Yum!

I LOVE DARK CHOCOLATE... I have made my own dark chocolate peanut butter "cups" for years - using a Hershey's dark chocolate bar - break a piece, dip in peanut butter, break another piece, dip in peanut butter again... it was almost perfect - now, it *is* perfect!

I like to put them in the freezer. On a hot day there is little better than a frozen Reese's Cup and a glass of milk. My eating technique varies. Sometimes it is one bite. Other times I eat the sides off, then the top, bottom and finally the center. Any way that you do it, frozen is the key!

I eat the top off then the edges and middle. For some reason I've been doing this since I was a kid. It's best if it's soft and gets all over your hands! : )

My Mom wanted me to comment for her too <3
"I like to savor my Reese's Cups as long as possible by taking itty-bitty bites."

I enjoy my Reese's by nibbling the edges off slowly, then popping the rest in my mouth. The dark chocolate version sounds marvelous.

Surprisingly, as A/R as I am, I don't have one specific way to eat Reese's. I've done the nibble off the crinkly edges thing, I've popped the middle out, I've excavated them layer-by-layer, archeologist-style but I think my most favored way is to take a bite halfway through to make it into a moon, very carefully so as not to crush it, examine the layers and then stuff the rest down my pie-hole as fast as possible!

Reeves cups are the perfect snack no matter how I eat them! Sometimes I nibble the edges, sometimes I devour them whole. When they are cold they have a little crunch, but they are excellent when they are warm and gooey too! And always I must lick the chocolate off the wrapper!

My favorite way to eat a Reese's PB cup? Quickly!! - before anyone else in the house gets to them...

My plan? nibble the ridges and then consume the remainder it two large, satisfying bites!
