So by my calculations, it's Kleenex - 3, Frances - 0 during the last two weeks.
First it was Kai's haircut—man, I hated to see all those blonde curls hitting the floor. And he came out of it looking suave and debonair...and about two years older.
Then last week, Carly started first grade. She's at school for the entire day now, and I'll be honest, I miss all the drama! Plus, there's the part about her looking so grown up all of a sudden, too.
And today, Kai started preschool. Now this should be no big deal. I mean, "preschool" for him means going to play with six little friends and two teachers one morning a week. But you know me, once he was happily playing on the playground and I was back in the car...cue the waterworks. It seems like just yesterday he was born, and now he's so independent (not as independent as he'd LIKE to be, but that's a whole different post!)
I am a little depressed to report that there is no official First Day of School picture of Kai despite my best efforts. But I did manage to snag two photos of him engaging in his favorite preschool activities: climbing and sliding and looking for the next thrill. And that will have to do.
